Michelle Yeoh makes Oscar history with her award-winning performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, screening in ArtScience Cinema this May as part of Goddess.

A big-hearted sci-fi adventure with unforgettable action sequences, Everything Everywhere All at Once is about an exhausted Chinese American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who discovers that she’s the only one who can save the multiverse from a surprising and familial foe.

Directed by the Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), this ambitious genre-bending epic swept awards in 2023 for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and of course not forgetting, history-making wins across the awards season for the Asian cast. Notably at the 2023 Academy Awards, Michelle Yeoh won the Oscar for Best Actress, Ke Huy Quan for Best Supporting Actor, and Stephanie Hsu earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination.

    Cementing her place as both serious actress and action star, Malaysian-born Michelle Yeoh proves to be a force to be reckoned with in the leading role of Evelyn, the reluctant heroine who unlocks her world-saving abilities by connecting with her parallel selves.

    In winning Best Actress at the 95th Academy Awards, Michelle Yeoh became the first Asian to win in the category. Her co-star, Vietnamese American Ke Huy Quan, was also one of only two actors of Asian descent to win for Best Supporting Actor.
